As Japan struggles to fight against the consequences of the 3.11 Tohoku earthquake, which has been designated as the most devastating disaster since World War II, THIS EVENT AIMS TO RAISE FUNDS & AWARENESS BY SELLING TICKETS AND ENJOYING QUALITY JAPANESE FOOD, SWEETS & SAKE (RICE WINE).

All the proceeds of this event will be sent to Japan Society Tohoku Earthquake Relief Fund and British Red Cross Japan Tsunami Appeal to support local organizations working to help people in the affected areas by the earthquake and tsunami.

  There would be a variety of sake including ‘Ginjo’ (premium sake; e.g. Uragasumi Junmai Ginjo) and foods including teriyaki chicken & salmon, ebi-furai (Fried prawn), gyoza(Fried Dumplings), kara-age, coroquette, edamame(parboiled immature soybeans), onigiri(rice ball), salmon-maki(sushi roll), kappa-maki(sushi roll)!
• Short lecture about Japanese Sake and Food (Rie Yoshitake, Sake Samurai Association UK representative)
• Movie made by people in Tohoku

東北地方太平洋沖地震から3カ月。いまだ続く震災の影響の中で不安を抱えながら日々復興に向かっていらっしゃる被災者 の方々へ英国からの支援を長期的に続けて行くため、Action for Japan UKは「Taste Japan! Charity for Tohoku!」を開催します。幅広い銘柄の日本酒、Nagomiのおいしい日本食 、 吉兆庵の和菓子を和太鼓、三味線等の日本の伝統音楽の音とともにお楽しみいただけます。また、東北にお住まいの方が制作された福島の避難所の様子などの映像も御覧いただけます。当日は日本酒について簡単なお話もございます。ご家族やご友人をお誘い合わせの上、ぜひお越しください。

Taste Japan! Charity for Tohoku!

On March 11, the 9.0-magnitude earthquake and tsunami struck northeastern Japan.

As of today, nearly 15,000 deaths have been confirmed, and more than 10,000 remain listed as missing.Thousands of people had been evacuated from their homes.

It was two months ago. But it's not over yet...the disaster still continues.

Let's think about Japan again while having genuine Japanese food and sake!
