More than half a year has passed since our volunteers worked at Mr Niizawa’s sake brewery. Whilst I was in Sendai to organize this year’s volunteer trip, Mr Niizawa kindly came to meet me from Furukawa. We talked about the memorable days at the Niizawa brewery while eating Kaisendon (seafood ball), and then he took me to see his new sake brewery. [Report] Sake Volunteering Project 2011 The Great East Japan Earthquake saw 93 out of the 114 breweries in Miyagi, Iwate and Fukushima Prefectures suffer great damage, with nine facilities being completely destroyed.
